The building is approx. 200 years old, built for the Duke of Sutherland, probably by the builders of the lighthouse, to house his land agent. Many years later it became a private dwelling house for a family called Robertson, in 1927, it was turned into a hotel.
The Hotel incorporates modern standards of comfort and service without loosing the charm of a genuine Highland Fishing Hotel.
It now offers excellent accommodation and service in an environment that secludes guests from modern communications, unless requested. The hotel has an enviable reputation for fine food, an extensive wine list and a warm welcome for all its guests.
